AMMAN — Nearly 100 Chilean lawyers, mostly descendants of
Palestinians, filed a complaint before the
International Criminal Court (ICC)
against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The allegations include
crimes against humanity, genocide, and war crimes committed in Gaza.

The complaint, presented on December 22 in The Hague, was
led by former ambassador Nelson Hadad, lawyer Rodolfo Marcone, and academics
Roberto Mayorga, Juan Banderas, and Hassan Zeran. Criminal lawyer Juan Carlos
Manriquez assisted in the presentation, Amad, Quds Press reported.
The complainants, part of the largest Palestinian community
outside the Palestinian State, are calling for an arrest warrant against
Benjamin Netanyahu and other individuals responsible for these alleged crimes.
Nelson Hadad emphasized the ongoing nature of these crimes, occurring for
almost 90 days with indiscriminate bombings on the
population in Gaza,
destroying entire residential neighborhoods without distinguishing between
civilians and combatants.
Former Ambassador Hadad stated, “All countries must denounce
war criminals, ensuring they are held accountable, assume their
responsibilities, face punishment according to the penalties of the Rome
Statute, and provide reparations for victims," in statements to EFE.
Senators Francisco Chahuán, Ximena Rincón, Paulina
Vodanovic, Iván Moreira, Sergio Gahona, and Alfonso de Urresti from the
parliamentary world joined the filed complaint. Chahuán explained that the
objective is to prove the genocide taking place in Gaza, forced displacement,
war crimes, and the violation of international humanitarian law. He emphasized
the demand for Netanyahu's criminal responsibility and an immediate ceasefire.
In addition, on Saturday, Kuwait issued a statement signed
by 30 associations, leagues, unions, and parties. The statement calls on the
country's government to join the lawsuit filed by "South Africa"
against "Israel" before the International Court of Justice.
Expressing astonishment at the international community's silence regarding
crimes committed by the
Zionist occupation in Gaza, the statement emphasizes
war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity as defined by international
law and agreements.
The signatories stress their surprise at the silence of Arab
and Islamic countries, contributing to the blockade and hindering aid to the
people of Gaza. The statement urges Kuwait's government to use its
relationships and capabilities internationally to end the aggression and hold
the usurping entity accountable. The signatories point out that "South
Africa," Turkey, and Malaysia have taken legal action against the Zionist
entity, accusing it of genocide in Gaza. The statement renews the demand for
Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to join the lawsuit, contributing to
accountability and pressuring to end the genocide in Gaza. Associations,
leagues, parties, and groups representing various components in Kuwait have
signed the statement.
