An Albanian criminal facing deportation has been allowed to remain in the UK after a judge ruled it would be “unduly harsh” on his 10-year-old son, who refuses to eat foreign chicken nuggets.اضافة اعلان
Klevis Disha, 39, was convicted in 2017 after being caught with £250,000 in criminal proceeds. Former Home Secretary Priti Patel had ordered his deportation and revocation of his UK citizenship, which was obtained through deception. However, Disha appealed, arguing that his son's special needs, including food sensitivities and difficulties with clothing, would make relocation to Albania too challenging.
The lower tribunal sided with Disha, but an upper tribunal judge later questioned the decision, noting that the only concrete example provided was the child’s refusal to eat certain chicken nuggets available abroad. The case has now been sent back to a lower tribunal for review.
The ruling has sparked backlash, with critics calling it an abuse of human rights laws and an obstacle to the UK’s efforts to enforce deportations.
