Taqueria Fresh LA Mexican street food in the heart of Amman

AMMAN — It’s extremely difficult to go wrong with Mexican food. This cuisine has everything from light snacks to heavy and filling meals. From the spices to the meat to the cheeses, there’s always a meal to crave. As such I never hesitate to give a new Mexican eatery a try, this led me to head to Taqueria Fresh, a popup restaurant in Swefieh Village. اضافة اعلان
Rather than going the route of more traditional Mexican cuisine, this restaurant focuses more on Mexican street food, with meals better suited for people on the go. It offers LA street food right here in Amman. Mexican migrants represent a significant portion of the population in Los Angeles, where they have established their own culinary tradition based on their country of origin.

The restaurant is a popup temporarily based out of Swefieh Village, which is quickly becoming the local hub for up and coming restaurants. The place itself is small and well decorated, with outdoor seating offered. our order consisted of the carne asada burrito, the trio fries, the carne taquitos, the pollo fritos, and the California burger.
The agua fresca is, in my opinion, the perfect beverage. This drink consists of a refreshing glass of fresh lemonade with tajin seasoning across the brim of the glass. The sweetness of the lemonade paired with the tangy taste of tajin was indescribable, and definitely something I would recommend to anyone bored of typical lemonade and who is trying to go outside their comfort zone.
The carne asada burrito would be a close second in terms of aspects of the meal I most enjoyed. The ingredients of this burrito were extremely well balanced, and on its own would make a wonderfully satisfying meal. Due to its filling and satisfying nature, I would recommend ordering this dish on its own, without too many side dishes, for fear of it filling you up too much. Regardless, this was one of the better burritos I have tried in Amman to date.

The trio fries are not for the faint of heart. A large container of fries packed to the brim with three different types of sauces and toppings, this could be a meal and a half on its own. I think that the trio fries are best enjoyed by a few friends rather than as a meal for one person. The variety grantees that everyone can find a flavor for them, while not being daunted by the size of the dish.

Absolutely a delicious option that I would order again.
The carne taquitos were also a pleasure. While the shell on the outside was on the hard side, the filling was tasty and enjoyable. This dish is quite a messy one to eat, so keep napkins on hand if you order it. The mess aside, the taste was delicious and beautifully textured. I would say that the outside was slightly harder than I would have preferred, but that would not stop me from ordering this dish again.

Despite how much I enjoyed much of this meal, I did leave one or two comments and criticisms. Much like the taquitos, i felt that the pollo fritos felt slightly too stale, which made it quite difficult to bite into. The dish was still enjoyable despite all this, but could be improved on by perhaps trying a slightly different consistency with the more crunchy parts of it.

The California burger was tasty, but slightly underwhelming compared to the quality of the rest of the meal. I think this dish could be improved on with more liberal use of toppings such as guacamole, as they used with other dishes. On the other hand, the burger patty was exceptionally well seasoned, making this burger on par with ones that could be found in steakhouses. Overall, while this burger may have been a mixed bag for me, I would still rate it quite highly.

Overall, I would recommend taqueria fresh to anyone looking for a quick yet satiating bite to eat. I would say that their guacamole is exceptional, there service is fast and extremely friendly. I had an excellent time dining at this establishment. If you are craving Mexican street food, this is the place to go.
