The plan focuses on the quality of life and
environment, transport, infrastructure and traffic solutions, investment, and
legislation related to development.
GAM Director of the media department
Nasser Al-Rahamneh said: “The strategic plan has been developed to adapt to the
components of the next phase and face the main challenges, such as climate and
environmental changes, water and energy scarcity, the steady increase in the
city’s population, and investment opportunities to develop services and keep
pace with rapid global changes, the most important of which is the
communications revolution, digital transformation, and the use of artificial intelligence
techniques in all fields.”
The plan, making use of the available financial and
human capabilities, consists of 212 projects/initiatives; it aims to achieve 45
strategic goals and targets for a total value of JD918 million over the next
five years.
The priorities of the projects were determined based
on approved criteria that take into account the importance and ease of
implementation of these projects, including the needs of city planning, of
service recipients, of partners, and government trends. The risks associated
with each project/initiative are also identified and evaluated.
The plan also includes programs to empower youths
and women by providing training programs and boosting their capabilities, to
empower and qualify them to enter the labor market.
Some of the
initiatives concern improving legislation, systems, policies, and the work
environment at GAM in order to improve the performance of employees, monitor
their skills and help invest their energies. They will touch the human
resources and the retirement systems.
