While
Shawish had every intention of competing and had been working hard in
preparation for the event, life had other plans. Prior to the competition, she
suffered a shoulder injury, which led her teammate, Abaza, who had not
initially planned to compete, to step into the spotlight. This demonstrated
remarkable
teamwork and adaptability on both their parts, showcasing their
resilience. Shawish coached both teams, with Abaza and Derawi securing the top
spot among the 47 female teams, while the male team ranked 12th out of the 50
teams in the global competition.
Shawish
expressed her admiration for the impressive organization of the event to Jordan News, emphasizing the ability of Arabs to host and manage large-scale events
effectively. She also noted the remarkable progress of Arab athletes in closing
the gap and achieving titles, a challenging feat just five years ago.
Fueled by Team Kabs,
Shawish, Abaza, and Jaabari are pioneers in the Jordanian fitness community.
For them, it is more than just exercise; it is a dedication to functional
fitness and community building. They extend a warm welcome to their students,
affectionately referred to as athletes, encouraging them to boost their
self-confidence, discover their inner strength, and share in some laughter
along the way. Through their daily classes at Kabs Underground, their goal is
to create a community hub that goes beyond the typical fitness center.
