AMMAN — The sixth edition of the
World Social Media Forum
was held Wednesday on new content creation trends brought about by the COVID-19
pandemic. The forum was attended by Arab speakers, social media influencers,
and experts, and held at the St Regis Hotel in Amman.

Held under the patronage of HRH Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein,
the summit is considered the largest social networking forum in the Middle
East.
Since its inception in 2014, the summit has hosted hundreds
of social media and marketing experts to discuss the most prominent
developments in social communication and exchange their successful experiences
on social media platforms. in benefiting from social media platforms to serve
marketing, promotion and advertising, as well the development of effective
content strategies with the attendance.
This year, the forum hosted former minister of tourism and
Managing Partner of the Advvis Company for Strategic Communication Suzanne
Afanah, former minister of youth and Chairman of NAMA Strategic Strategic
Intelligence Solutions Faris Braizat, and Managing Director of the Jordan
Tourism Board Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat.
Furthermore, the forum hosted Arab and foreign speakers such
as CNN’s Vice President Caroline Faraj and Lebanese Executive Chair of the
Takreem Foundation Ricardo Karam.
Alongside post-pandemic social media trends, attendees discussed
methods to maintain and foster public interactions and participation, as well
as the most effective marketing strategies implemented by companies
internationally.
During the event, organizers awarded the Peacock Social
Media Awards to organizations and brands that successfully used social media
platforms as part of their marketing strategies, and used creative and
innovative content to communicate with their audience.

The aim of the forum is to foster Jordan’s leading role in
developing social networking and to improve the role of influences in Jordan.
Ayman Irsheid, founder and CEO of
Moments Innovation, the firm organizing the
forum, stressed that the forum is the largest of its kind in the Middle East.
He said that the company’s goal is to grow the forum into an international
event.
In remarks to
Jordan News, the founder said that such events
contribute to promoting tourism in Jordan, and that they give Arab and foreign
speakers and influencers a chance to discover and explore Jordan.
"They will post different and beautiful photos from our
lovely country (on social media),” he said, which might inspire their followers
to visit the Kingdom, too.
He highlighted that this event is a golden chance for people
from around the world to see that Jordan is a safe country, that it is
recovering from the pandemic, and that it has the ability to hold different
events while following strict COVID-19 health protocols.
