AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have
apprehended 1,053 people who deal drugs in May, removing large quantities of
narcotics from the Kingdom.

According to the media spokesperson for the Public Security
Department, suspects in drug dealing were referred to the State Security
Court’s public prosecutor, adding that officers seized more than 349kg of
hashish, 1.6 million Captagon pills, 4kg of crystal meth, 3kg of marijuana, and
a kilo of industrial marijuana, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
In addition to the raids, PSD has hosted 513 anti-narcotic
lectures, courses, and workshops to raise awareness and have partnered with
various academic and media agencies.
Moreover, it was reported that 94 people were admitted to
drug rehabilitation centers.
PSD stressed that law enforcement will strike with an iron
fist for anyone who attempts to use or deal drugs.
