AMMAN
— A family of 11 Syrian nationals died in the
earthquake that struck Turkey on Monday. The family members were killed as a result of the building collapse
caused by the quake, local media outlets reported.

According
to Mohamed Mahameed, a relative of the victims, the deceased include adults and
young adults ranging in age from 7 to 64 years old.

stated that people will be able to offer their condolences to the family
members in Jordan, through a funeral service held in Ramtha for men and Irbid
for women.
The
services will begin Wednesday afternoon.
The
death toll from the earthquake, which had a magnitude of 7.7 and was followed
by another 7.6 magnitude quake, has now risen to over 9,858 in both Turkey and
Syria. The disaster has caused significant loss of life and property damage in
both nations.
