During an intensive training seminar held at the Institute
of Public Administration, aimed at capacitating procurement agents to
proficiently leverage this system, Nabulsi explained the pivotal role JONEPS
will play in the administrative undertakings of these entities.
She stated that the government has a comprehensive plan to
deploy JONEPS across a range of 100 government bodies between 2023 and 2025,
the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
Reductions of overheadNabulsi highlighted that the system's implementation has
resulted in significant reductions in administrative overhead associated with
procurement operations, demonstrating efficient management of state resources.
With the clear objective of streamlining bureaucratic
procedures related to government procurement, JONEPS has been designed to
promote transparency, uphold competition and equality among bidders, reduce
procurement costs, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize procurement
value.
Furthermore, the system aims to strengthen the relationship
between the public sector and the local community by streamlining governmental
procedures.
The commissioning of JONEPS was made possible through a
generous grant of $8.5 million provided by the Republic of Korea in 2015.
