Doha– Qatar’s market recorded a significant increase in the consumption of Jordanian dates in 2024 compared to imports in 2023.
According to recent data published by Qatar’s Planning and Statistics Authority on its official website today, Qatari imports of Jordanian dates of various types and varieties reached approximately 128 tons in 2024, reflecting a 6.6% growth compared to the 120 tons imported in 2023.

This figure had previously stood at 110 tons in 2022 and 98 tons in 2021.
The noticeable growth in Qatar’s imports of Jordanian dates aligns with the expansion of local markets and rising demand for Jordan’s renowned date varieties.
Jordanian dates have become a distinguished trademark, symbolizing high quality and exceptional standards.
According to several Qatari traders and importers, the continued increase in date imports is supported by many Qatari import-export companies raising their quantities to meet growing demand, driven by the increasing number of residents, visitors, and tourists in the country.
Qatar imports all varieties of Jordanian dates, both fresh and dry. Among them, Medjool dates rank first due to their superior quality and reasonable pricing, followed by Barhi dates in second place.
Dates are considered a strategic agricultural product in Jordan, with the country dedicating significant attention to expanding its cultivation. Jordan has seen continuous growth in the production and export of dates.
The GCC markets are among the primary external destinations for Jordanian dates, consuming substantial quantities of this essential food product annually.
