The
Jordan Exporters Association (JEA) will be representing
the Kingdom at this three-day event, with a focus on promoting the country's
local industrial companies specializing in Arabic desserts, spices, thyme,
nuts, and coffee.
In a statement released on Saturday, and carried by the
Jordan News Agency, Petra, Halim Abu Rahma, the general director of JEA,
emphasized that Jordan's participation in the exhibition presents a valuable
opportunity to forge new trade partnerships globally and explore promising
markets, particularly those with existing free trade agreements with Jordan.
Global attraction
Abu Rahma underscored the significance of the exhibition,
highlighting it as the largest event dedicated to
food and beverages in North
America, drawing exhibitors and visitors from various corners of the globe.
He further emphasized that JEA has been actively
participating in the Fancy Food Show since 2013, as part of their strategic
initiatives to support and enable the industry's entry into new markets.
Abu Rahma called upon participating companies to maximize
the benefits of their involvement in the food show by establishing valuable
connections, showcasing the Jordanian industry, and actively pursuing deals and
potential buyers.
He stressed the importance of supporting participation in foreign
exhibitions, stating that it is a "successful" approach to bolster
exports and unlock fresh markets. Such efforts align with the goals of the
Economic Modernization Vision's executive program, aiming to increase national
exports to over JD9 billion within the next three years.
Promising market
Abu Rahma highlighted the US as one of the most robust
markets in terms of purchasing power, offering promising prospects for
Jordanian exports.
Multiple Jordanian products are well-suited for the US market, efficiently meeting its demands thanks to the free trade agreement
signed between the two countries in 2000.
Official data reveals that during the first quarter of 2023,
national exports to the US experienced an 8 percent increase, reaching JD394
million compared to JD365 million during the same period in the previous year.
