148,000 visitors to Petra during the first third of this year

AMMAN — The Petra Development and Tourism Authority announced an increase in visitors to the ancient city of Petra for the month of April, compared to the same period last year, and the continued improvement in the number of visitors.اضافة اعلان

The authorities' statistics revealed that the city of Petra received about 148,000 visitors during the first third of this year, compared to only 17,000 visitors with the same period last year, 2021.

The statistics issued by the authority for the month of April recorded 57,357 visitors of all nationalities, the number of foreigners including 53,795 visitors, while the number of Arab visitors reached 712, and the number of Jordanian visitors reached 2496.

The authority's statistics for the month of March recorded 53,896 visitors of all nationalities to Petra, including 43,533 foreign visitors and 3,859 Arabs, while the number of Jordanian visitors reached 6504.

Petra tourism has rebounded more broadly after the government eased the restrictions of the COVID pandemic at the beginning of last March.
