AMMAN — Since the beginning of 2022, 15,000 drug
cases have been recorded in Jordan, including 4,300 drug trafficking cases,
said the Jordan Anti-Drugs Society (TJADS) President Mousa Altarifi on Tuesday.
The Kingdom’s geographical location makes it a drug
corridor, he said, noting that 95 percent of seizures happen when drugs are in
transit to neighboring countries, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Within Jordan, youth are the most targeted group for drugs,
Altarifi noted, pointing to the need for a comprehensive study to accurately
assess the scale of the local drug problem.
