AMMAN – The statistical data for vehicle
clearance movement from the
Zarqa Free Zone during the first ten months of
2023, compared to the same period in the previous year, showed a 15.7 percent
growth in the clearance of hybrid vehicles.

As reported by Al Mamlaka, electric vehicles (EVs) accounted for over 50 percent of the total vehicle clearance in the
Zarqa Free Zone.
Mohammad Al Bustanji, the head of the
Jordan Free Zones Investors' Commission, confirmed that electric vehicles
constituted more than 50 percent of the
total vehicle clearance in the first ten months of 2023, indicating an
increasing trend in reliance on this type of vehicle.
He highlighted a significant surge in the
number of
electric vehicles cleared during the first ten months of 2023,
reaching approximately 30,912 vehicles, marking a 137.82 percent increase from 12,997 vehicles cleared the
previous year.
The number of petrol-fueled vehicles
cleared during the first ten months of 2023 recorded 10,034 vehicles, a
decrease of 25.33 percent compared to
13,434 vehicles during the same period in 2022, accounting for 16.3 percent of the total clearance, which amounted to
61,475 vehicles.
Regarding diesel vehicles, the clearance
decreased to 6,651 vehicles, reflecting an 18.32% decline from the 8,143
vehicles in the previous year.
