The group has also
called for stronger antivenoms to be made available in the country.
According to Heba
Al-Dajah, the deputy head of the group, a man and a woman in their 50s and 40s,
respectively, were bitten by vipers during the current week, with one of them
in a serious condition.
Dajah also noted that
the incidence of snake bites tends to increase during the spring and summer
seasons when reptiles, especially snakes, are more prevalent.
Ineffective antivenomsDajah said the
antivenoms currently used by the Ministry of Health are not very effective
against snake bites.
She urged the
authorities to provide stronger antivenoms to deal with the recent spread of
snake bites.
The Jordan Valley
Snake Lovers association provides antivenoms through personal efforts from
neighboring countries and distributes them for free.
