Around 160,000 patients arrived in Jordan for treatment between January and the
end of October, a 27-percent increase over the same period in 2021, Head of the
Private Hospitals Association
Fawzi Al-Hammouri said on Tuesday.

He told
al-Mamlaka TV that despite the increase, the number did not yet match that
recorded prior to the breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hammouri said
that Jordan was specifically distinguished in certain surgeries, namely heart
and organ transplantations.
He stressed that
the
International Healthcare Travel Forum 2022 focused on the importance of the
role of head of diplomatic missions abroad in marketing Jordan as a destination
for medical tourism.
Hammouri called
for stimulating the medical sector in Jordan by reducing the income and sales
tax, and facilitating entry procedures into Jordan.
He pointed out
that reviewing the taxes imposed on the sector is still “pending.”
