170 cases of Delta COVID variant recorded in Jordan

AMMAN — A total of 170 cases of the Delta (Indian) coronavirus variant have been recorded in Jordan, according to Minister of Health Feras Al-Hawari, urging the public to take caution against the threat of a COVID setback that could be brought about by new variants of the virus. Hawari added that Jordan is seeking to vaccinate the largest number of people possible to mitigate the impact of COVID variants. He explained that the ministry’s intends to have administered 2.5 million doses of the vaccine by July 1 and 4 million by September 1. Hawari pointed out that the Ministry of Health has the potential to vaccinate up to 100,000 people per day, provided that everyone abides by their appointments.
