Meanwhile there are 3,000 students who
are studying medicine in Jordanian universities, Zoubi noted, adding that the
number of newly graduated doctors is set to double in the next six years.
Zoubi said that the association is
working to find job markets abroad to accommodate the number of graduates from
medical colleges especially considering the high unemployment rate.
The number of graduates in human
medicine, according to figures from the
Ministry of Higher Education, will
reach 20,000 doctors in the coming years, and this number will lead to a crisis
in the medical sector, said Zoubi.
Zoubi emphasized the importance of
enforcing controls for admission to medical specialties and reducing the
numbers of medical students.
