AMMAN — Head of the
Jordan Medical Association Ziyad Al-Zoubi said Sunday that there are 2,500 unemployed doctors
in Jordan, and that enrolling more students in medical specialties in
universities will only exacerbate the problem of unemployment in the sector,
Khaberni reported.

According to Zoubi, 38,000 doctors practice the
profession in various specialties in the country.
He pointed out that some 38,000 students are studying medicine
in Jordan and abroad, a large number that severely affects the availability of
job opportunities in this vital sector.
