JVA Secretary-General Manar Mahasneh said that Bin
Hammad Dam is one the major dams in the Jordan Valley, with a storage capacity
of 4 million cubic meters.
The Fidan Dam in Wadi Araba is also ready to operate
with a capacity of 3.5 million cubic meters.
Al-Karama Dam will not be used because it has been
sitting idle since 1997, Mahasneh said, adding that maintenance teams are in
the vicinity conducting work on the dam.
All other dams in the Kingdom are prepared to
receive water from rainfall during the fall, the JVA chief noted.
A dam safety report also confirmed that other dams
