AMMAN —
Ministry of Education Spokesperson Ahmad Masaafeh said that the ministry is ready for the
start of the second semester, according to Khaberni.

The ministry has finished
all the preparations for the second semester and provided the school textbooks,
Masaafeh said, adding that the ministry supplied schools with the sanitation
and self-care products, and will also provide masks. Some 5 million face masks
were distributed to schools during the first semester.
Among the measures
recently announced as part of the easing the fallout of the COVID-19
pandemic,
the ministry said that infected students will be quarantined for five days
only, said Masaafeh.
According to the ministry
official, some 200,000 students have received the vaccine so far.
On Sunday, about 2
million students return to in-person education, beginning the second semester
of this scholastic year, according to Al-Rai daily.

Secretary-General
Najwa Qbilat said that the ministry has prepared an operation
room to follow up on all developments in education; the room will also receive
complaints from the teaching staff, students and parents.
Qbilat reaffirmed the
ministry’s keenness to resume in-class education while maintaining the health
of students and teaching staff by observing the health protocol, in
coordination with the Ministry of Health and the
National Center for Security and Crises Management.
A total of 7,446 schools,
of which 4,002 public, are welcoming students on Sunday.
