The Embassy of the Republic of
Korea in Amman, in cooperation with the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, held a seminar for mutual cooperation between Korea and Jordan on October 20th, 2022.

Since 1974, many Korean companies have invested in Jordan, using their cutting-edge expertise to contribute to fulfilling Jordan's national tasks of establishing infrastructures, and now power plants in this country built by Korean companies cover about 20 percent of its total electricity installed capacity. And Jordan is a gateway for other Korean companies such as Samsung and LG in the Levant region. In this context, and in celebration of the 60th diplomatic ties between Korea and Jordan, this seminar, which was organized by KOTRA Amman office, aims at enhancing economic cooperation
between the two countries and increasing investment opportunities for Korean companies in Jordan.
This seminar consisted three parts: In the beginning, Zaher al-Qatarneh, the Secretary-general of the Ministry of Investment, explained the country's new investment law enacted this year. Then the Jordan Customs Department gave a presentation on the new tariff system that took effect in this February, followed by KOSPO Jordan, which shared its business experience in Jordan.
About 40 Jordanian government officials and businessmen in Jordan attended the seminar and exchanged information and ideas to facilitate economic cooperation. Among them are members of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce from various industrial sectors as well as the Korean energy and home electronics companies.
