AMMAN — The Lower House's session agenda for December 27 excluded the 2023 general budget bill speech, which could delay the approval of the bill and make the government resort to Article 113 of the Constitution, Al-Mamlaka TV said. اضافة اعلان

The Cabinet approved the 2023 general budget draft bill at the end of November,

Constitutional law expert Laith Nasrawin said, "The government's failure to deliver the budget speech till now will result in delays in the approval of the draft and increases the likelihood of resorting to the execution of Article 113 of the Constitution".

Article 113 of the Constitution stipulates that "If it is not possible to enact the General Budget Law before the beginning of the new financial year, expenditures shall continue by monthly appropriations at the rate of 1/12th of each month of the previous year's budget".

The government sent the 2023 general budget bill to the Lower House to be passed on to the Finance Committee for discussion and presentation under the Dome on December 4, Al-Mamlaka stated.
