— On Tuesday, insurance and social
protection expert Musa Al-Subaihi delivered a comprehensive report on the state
of social security in 2023. His findings brought to light significant digital
indicators, providing a detailed overview of both the insurance and investment
landscape, Jo24 reported. Here are the key highlights:

Insurance:● In 2023, the count of active insured individuals reached an impressive 1.546 million, inclusive of 92,700 voluntary subscribers.
● There are currently 73,000 establishments, all falling under the jurisdiction of the Social Security Law.
● Retirees totaled 332,800, with 9,000 originating from non-Jordanian backgrounds. Notably, 404,000 individuals received unemployment compensation, underscoring the social security system's responsiveness to economic challenges.
● Maternity Leave Allowances: A total of 102,000 women benefited from maternity leave allowances.
● Work Injuries: The Social Security Institution efficiently handled 605,000 work injuries, with the overall cost, covering expenses such as transportation, daily allowances, and compensations, reaching JD160 million. This cumulative figure spans from the establishment of social security in 1980 to the conclusion of 2023, excluding disability and recurrent injury death benefits.
Financial Indicators:● The monthly retirement salaries bill amounted to JD144 million, emphasizing the financial commitment to retirees.
● Monthly insurance revenues, inclusive of approximate subscriptions, reached a substantial JD188 million, reflecting the robust financial health of the social security system.
● Social security assets were reported at JD14.7 billion.
