The project is a continuation of the first (HTUplus) stage that took place in 2019, with an amount of €20 million. The second phase was designed to keep attracting technical and vocational education and training in Jordan, in addition to improving the access of Jordanian youth to the labor market by providing high-quality programs in this regard.
Al Hussein Technical University (
HTU) is the responsible agency for implementing the project under the umbrella of the Crown Prince Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and the Vocational Training Corporation.
The project aims to provide practice-oriented TVET in close cooperation with the private sector, thus increasing the employment opportunities for graduates and attract them for TVET in Jordan through a long-term partnership with the vocational training cooperation organization.
The project is expected to expand the regional communication range and TVET offers to the northern, central and southern regions of Jordan.
The first and second stages of the project include building a new campus for technical and vocational education and training in Amman, rehabilitating and equipping seven public vocational training institutions, and rehabilitating and preparing a school.
