AMMAN —
Jordan’s sheep and goat population increased by 3 percent in 2021 to a total of
3.889 million heads compared with 3.765 million heads in 2020, according to
official figures, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Similarly, sheep and goat births during the same year
picked up by 4.4 percent at 2.5 million heads against 2.394 million heads in
2020, the Department of Statistics said on Wednesday, citing data from a
regular livestock census.
