Under royal directives, the cabinet has approved the deployment of
1,000 trucks to transport 30,000 tons of wheat and 15,000 tons of grain. This
was announced by Yousef Shamali, the
Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply,
in a press briefing also attended by the government spokesperson, Muhannad
Mubaidin.
Shamali mentioned
Jordan's leading role in supporting the United Nations agency for Palestinian
refugees,
UNRWA, with a donation of JD3 million. Jordan has also provided
medical assistance, sending six trucks of medicines to the West Bank,
delivering medical supplies to a Jordanian-run field hospital in Gaza, and
flying in relief aid to Egypt for
distribution in Gaza via UNRWA.
Mubaidin emphasized
that the wheat and grain deliveries aim to alleviate the shortage faced by West
Bank residents due to the Israeli occupation's actions. He also shed light on
Jordan's active involvement in rallying international support for a ceasefire,
preventing the
displacement of Gazans, and ensuring the flow of humanitarian
