The minister added that allocations are set to cover an additional 15,000 families in 2025, which constitutes a key challenge facing the National Aid Fund (NAF).
Bani Mustafa made the remarks during a discussion of the ministry's budget and its affiliated government units, with House Finance Committee, headed by Dr. Nimer Sleihat.
Furthermore, she stressed that the ministry aims to expand social support programs and emergency aid for the most impoverished families under the Unified Cash Transfer Program, which continues to update its standards monthly based on 57 indicators, in cooperation with 40 national entities and institutions.
Noting efforts made by the ministry to recruit trained workforce, she noted 7% of local workers entered the National Employment Programme, aimed to empower family members , who benefit from aid programs by securing job opportunities to increase their income, and providing training opportunities for youth and women in remote areas.
The minister said reports showed that some regions, namely Tafilah, Ma'an and Mafraq top the list of the poorest cities in the Kingdom.
Results of the National Employment Programme contributed to removing 399 families from the national aid lists after their income improved, while 370 households still receive aid, she announced.
