32,000 Citizens Benefit from Vehicle Registration Exemption Program

Amman– The recent decision to waive fines for vehicles with expired registrations has led to a surge in demand at vehicle licensing offices across the Kingdom, with around 32,000 citizens taking advantage of the exemption within the first week alone.اضافة اعلان

Brigadier Omar Al-Qaraan, Director of the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department, confirmed that approximately 31,541 individuals successfully renewed their vehicle registrations during the first week of the initiative, benefiting from the exemption on outstanding fines.

The Licensing Department has reported a steady influx of customers, with over 4,500 vehicles being registered daily under the new rules. Mobile licensing stations have also contributed to easing access, enabling citizens to complete their transactions with greater convenience.

In a move to further enhance accessibility, a mobile licensing station has been deployed to the Badia areas to offer technical inspections, renewals, and other essential licensing services. With mobile stations operating across all regions, residents are encouraged to stay informed about the locations and operating hours by following updates from the Public Security Directorate.

Brigadier General Al-Qaraan urged citizens to take advantage of this temporary exemption before the program concludes on December 31. He emphasized that the initiative not only alleviates financial burdens but also ensures the safety and readiness of vehicles on the road.

The Cabinet’s decision, announced last Tuesday, provides a much-needed reprieve for vehicle owners with expired licenses, exempting them from additional fines and re-registration fees. Vehicles with expired licenses for over a year are also exempt from acquisition fees for previous years. The initiative is part of the government's broader effort to ease financial pressures on citizens, streamline vehicle registration processes, and promote road safety.
