330K social security retirees in Jordan, early retirees comprise 49%

Subaihi noted that the retirement pension bill for March amounted to approximately JD148 million. He also mentioned that early retirees, totaling 161.5 thousand, make up 49 percent of all Social Security retirees.

Furthermore, he highlighted that around 60,000 early retirees from the public sector constitute 37 percent of the total early retirees to date. Additionally, during the period from January 1, 2024, to March 25, 2024, approximately 5500 new retirees, including 3431 early retirees, were allocated retirement and disability pensions by the Social Security Corporation (SSC), accounting for 63 percent of the new retirees during that time.
