AMMAN – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced on Thursday the arrival of 37 Jordanian citizens, who were evacuated from the Gaza Strip to the Arab Republic of Egypt through the Rafah crossing, to the port of Aqaba on a ship that departed from Nuweiba today.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, explained that through the Jordanian Embassy in Egypt, transportation was arranged today for 37 Jordanian citizens out of the 62 who were evacuated from Gaza to the Arab Republic of Egypt through the Rafah crossing. They arrived in the Kingdom aboard a ship belonging to the Arab Bridge Maritime Company in coordination with the Ministry of Transport. T
Qudah stated that the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority received and provided assistance and medical care for the evacuees, and transported those who wished to the capital, Amman. He added that another 25 people who were evacuated arrived in Cairo.
Qudah said that the number of Jordanian citizens evacuated from Gaza to the Arab Republic of Egypt through the Rafah crossing reached 525 out of the 924 registered on the Ministry's lists.
He confirmed that a team from the Jordanian Embassy in Egypt is still present at Rafah crossing, supervising the evacuation operations for Jordanian citizens residing and present in Gaza.
Qudah renewed the call for Jordanian citizens residing and present in Gaza to contact the Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate at the Ministry to request assistance, 24/7, at the following numbers:
