AMMAN — Official data released by the Civil Status and Passports Department revealed the total number of individuals who acquired
Jordanian citizenship in 2022 through marriage, naturalization applications, or
other provisions under the Jordanian Nationality Law.
Based on the provisions of Article 8 of the Jordanian
Nationality Law, which allows Arab and foreign wives married to Jordanians to
obtain Jordanian citizenship after meeting the legal requirements, the
department issued 4,389 citizenship certificates.
As for individuals who naturalized under the provisions of
Articles 12, 5, and 4, the number of individuals who acquired Jordanian citizenship according to the aforementioned provisions reached 253 persons.
According to the data, 253 people obtained Jordanian
citizenship through naturalization applications.
The total number of transactions completed by the department
during the past year amounted to 11,755.
