AMMAN — The
activities of the 13th round of Aquafina Amman Marathon, which was held under
the slogan “
Run in the heart of Amman,” concluded on Friday with a ceremony
that was held at the Roman Amphitheater, during which winners were honored
based on different categories, according to Amman Net.

The concluding ceremony was attended by local
and international runners who participated in the marathon, in addition to
running enthusiasts.
This year’s marathon witnessed wide
participation: 5,000 runners participated in 10-km races, among them visually
impaired people and people in wheelchairs; partially visually impaired and
completely blind individuals ran 21 km; 21 wheelchair races were held; and 42
km (individual/relay) races were run. They all concluded in the Hashemite
Square, followed by an awarding ceremony.

Lina Al-Kurd, general manager of
Run Jordan,
said: “At Run Jordan, we are proud to celebrate this huge sporting event, in
its 13th year, which we have made into the outstanding level it reached today.”

Present at the concluding ceremony were Amman
Mayor Yousef Al Shawarbeh, who attended on behalf of HRH Prince Firas Bin Raad,
Aquafina’s deputy general manager, Mutassim Salameh, Aquafina’s marketing
director, and Roaa Zaidan, among others.
