5.9% increase in foreign grants by end of first half of 2022

AMMAN — Foreign grants in the first half of 2022 amounted to JD81.7 million, compared to JD77 million during the same period of the previous year, marking an increase of JD4.6 million, or 5.9 percent, according to the Ministry of Finance, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.اضافة اعلان

The total general revenues of the central government during the first half of 2022 amounted to JD4.1 billion, compared to JD3.785 billion, during the same period of the previous year, an increase of JD313 million, or 8.3 percent.

The total expenditure of the central government during the first half of 2022 reached to JD4.950 billion, compared JD4.620 billion during the same period of the previous year, recording an increase of JD328.8 million, or 7.1 percent.

The increase in total spending came as a result of an increase in current expenditures by JD176.4 million, or 4.2 percent, and an increase in capital expenditures by JD152.4 million, or 39.5 percent.

The financial developments resulted in recording a post-grant financial deficit in the general budget of the central government during the first half of 2022 of JD847.4 million, compared to a post-grant financial deficit of JD831.7 million during the same period of the previous year, while the pre-grant financial deficit before external grants amounted to about JD929 million during the first half of 2022, compared to a pre-grant financial deficit of JD908.8 million during the same period of the previous year.
