The ministry emphasized that implementing alternative penalties aims to reduce overcrowding in correctional and rehabilitation centers and minimize the financial burdens associated with imprisonment while also helping maintain the economic stability of convicted individuals.

The ministry highlighted that replacing prison sentences with alternative penalties provides first-time offenders an opportunity for rehabilitation, allowing them to maintain their livelihoods and preventing their exposure to hardened criminals and major crime offenders.

Regarding legal aid, the ministry reported that 251 legal aid cases were provided to eligible individuals under the Legal Aid System.

Additionally, Jordanian courts held approximately 12,216 remote court sessions as part of the Remote Trial Project, which aims to expedite litigation procedures and save time and effort by using modern technology to facilitate remote hearings for inmates and witnesses.
