Amman – The Arab Council for Health Specializations has approved 6 residency and fellowship programs and renewed the accreditation of 19 programs at the University Hospital and the University of Jordan, aimed at training physicians and dentists under the council’s umbrella.

Dr. Nader Al-Bassoul, Director General of the hospital, confirmed the hospital’s readiness to train doctors in the fellowship programs accredited by the Jordanian Medical Council, which will open opportunities for doctors from all Arab countries to train in these recognized specialties.
In a statement issued by the hospital on Thursday, Dr. Al-Bassoul emphasized that, in line with its vision of being a role model and a supporter of education, training, and development locally, regionally, and globally, the hospital is committed to maintaining the highest standards of medical learning and creating opportunities for continuous professional development.
The aim is to provide medical trainees with an exceptional experience to shape safe and specialized future doctors.
Dr. Randa Farah, Assistant Director General for Education and Training, confirmed the training office's commitment to monitoring the accreditation of programs and ensuring that all standards are met.
She also reinforced the hospital’s leadership role in training various health specialties through continuous professional development programs.
The accredited programs by the council include specialties such as: Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism for Adults, Pediatric Respiratory Diseases, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Endocrinology, Family Medicine and Intensive Care for Adults. Additionally, the council renewed accreditation for residency and fellowship programs in specialties including General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Urology, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Intensive Care, Pathology, Emergency Medicine, ENT and Head and Neck Surgery, Ophthalmology and its Surgery, and Oral, Maxillofacial Surgery.
