threatened to commit mass suicide on Saturday, in protest against the absence
of job opportunities, Jo24 reported.

The six said the authorities “had not provided them with
a solution after years of protest”, despite the presence of major companies in
Maan Governorate, including the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company.
They added that they “have no other alternative” but to
climb the highest telecommunication towers in Maan and commit mass suicide,
given that all authorities had ignored them.
The governorate director of security and a group of the
men’s families came to the location to persuade them to back down from their
decision and descend from the towers.
