AMMAN — A specialized study issued by the Association of
Information and Communications Technology Companies "Intaj" revealed that the number of graduates from information and communication technology university colleges for the academic year 2020/2021 in Jordan amounted to 7,247 students.

According to a statement released on Sunday by “Intaj”, it included a study on Information Management and digital archiving, library and information management, graphic design, management information systems and accounting information systems.
She pointed out that public universities graduated 4,371 students in these disciplines during this academic year, with the ratio of information technology majors' ratio to the total number of graduates at about 8 percent.
As for the 18 private universities and colleges, 2543 male and female students graduated from them during the current academic year, representing 12% of the total graduates.
The study showed that the number of IT graduates from universities with private law amounted to 272 male and female students, 10.6 percent of its total graduates, while the number of graduates of regional universities, numbering one in Jordan, was 61.
Eid Sweis, the head of the board of directors of the
Intaj Association, said that the association, through this study, seeks to assist the sector companies and provide them with a vision and a clear roadmap to determine their future directions for work in the governorates.
He pointed out that universities in Jordan have begun to move from the traditional situation of indoctrination of students, especially information technology colleges, towards teaching students the academic and life skills necessary for the labor market.
It is noteworthy that the "Intaj" relied on the results of its study on recent data issued by the Jordanian
Ministry of Higher Education.
