AMMAN — A
summary of the indicators of the telecommunications sector for the second
quarter of this year showed that landline phones command 20.4 percent of the
sector, while cellular phones had a majority of 66.5 percent, Al-Mamlaka TV
reported.

Statistics issued
by the
Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) on Monday showed that the
volume of the landline home phone service traffic reached 16 million minutes,
and the rate of fixed broadband Internet service for household use reached 32
percent.
Mobile services
traffic amounted to 8 billion minutes, fixed broadband data usage 761 million
gigabytes, and mobile broadband data usage 408 million gigabytes.
The number of
subscriptions to mobile communication services amounted to 7.4 million, of
which 1.9 million is post-paid, and the remaining 5.5 million is pre-paid.
The percentage of the pre-paid subscriptions reached 74
percent, and the remaining 26 is post-paid.
