AMMAN —
Some of the people who were detained in connection to the chlorine gas
leak in
Aqaba have been released, Khaberni reported.

It quoted Atef Al-Maaytah, a lawyer specialized in
maritime law, as saying that Aqaba’s Court of First Instance released seven
defendants.
Two others remain in reform and rehabilitation centers,
including the general manager of the
Aqaba Company for Ports Operation and Management.
Thirteen people died and hundreds were injured on June 27
when a tank of liquefied chlorine ruptured at the port. Following the incident,
the director-general of the company, alongside several other company officials,
were dismissed.
