The ministry’s main duty is growth, unlike the stereotype which shows that its role is only limited to maintaining the security of the country, indicating governors in all governorates are ahead of all state employees and therefore they are concerned with governorates’ development.
The Ministry of Interior encourages investment by facilitating the residence of investors in Jordan, settling of existing investments, granting temporary or permanent residency or passports, in addition to the governors’ communication with investors in their locations and providing protection for them.
Also the ministry receives the investors’ complaints and refer them to the Minister then to the Council of Ministers and relevant ministries, according to Faraya.
He added that 79 people with their families have been granted Jordanian nationality since the amendment of the conditions for obtaining citizenship, which was amended in September 2021, stressing that the government has taken serious decisions to reduce the conditions for obtaining citizenship through investment, while preserving the conditions related to employment.
The minister explained that the government presented a project to improve the investment environment to the Lower House, which is currently under discussion.
