AMMAN — An opinion poll conducted on behalf of the
Washington Institute for Near East Policy revealed that 84 percent of
Jordanians reject any form of relations with Israel.
According to the survey conducted between March and April
2023, despite the peace treaty between the Kingdom and Israel that has been in
place for about three decades, Jordanians still harbor strong aversion towards
Israel, although they prefer de-escalation in the region, Khaberni reported.
The survey also indicated that 84 percent of Jordanians
oppose conducting trade deal with Israeli companies, even if it would benefit
national economy. Moreover, they also reject cooperation with Israel in other aspects
as well.
In addition, 76 percent of Jordanians expressed their
rejection of Jordan or any other Arab country receiving humanitarian aid from Israel,
even in emergency situations like earthquakes or other natural disasters.
The survey also showed that 72 percent of Jordanians support
the protests against the right-wing government, considering these protests as a
positive development.
