Swais said that 90 percent of
Internet users in Jordan access the web through mobile devices, while 10 percent of Jordanians
do not, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
He pointed out that 95 percent of Jordanian
households have access to the Internet at home.
As for mobile broadband subscriptions, the
data showed that about 44 percent of these subscriptions use 3G &
4G services, with a coverage rate of up to 99 percent.
On the other hand, the monitoring shows that
the average consumption rate of the individual on the Internet via the mobile
phone reaches about 63 gigabytes per month.
Swais confirmed the increasing importance of
telecommunications and information technology specializations in the Jordanian
market. He pointed out that about 7,000 students graduate annually in these
fields, distributed among engineering, programming, cybersecurity, data
analysis, and digital marketing specializations.
Meanwhile, Swais announced that the results of
the survey of the communications and information technology sector in
partnership with the
Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship for the
period from 2019 to 2022 have almost been completed, and the results will be
announced in the coming weeks.
