AMMAN— The Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI)'s exports grew by
48% during the past 11 months of 2022, compared to the same period last year,
according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
According to statistical data obtained by "Petra,"
ACI's exports increased during the January-November period 2022 to JD6.918
billion, compared to JD4.671 billion for the same period last year.
Exports of all ten industrial sectors recorded a growth
during the past 11 months of 2022, at a 100% rate for the mining industries and
3% for the construction, leather and textile industries, separately, the ACI
figures showed.
India, the United States, Saudi Arabia and Iraq accounted
for more than half of ACI’s exports during the past 11 months of 2022,
recording a value of JD3.663 billion.
The chamber's exports to India in the past 11 months of 2022
surged by 69% to reach JD1.416 billion, compared to JD838 million for the same
period last year, as the top importer.
On the other hand, the chamber’s exports to the United
States for the same period dropped by 5%, down to about JD903 million, compared
to JD947 million for the same period in 2021.
ACI's exports to Saudi Arabia increased during the past 11
months of 2022, by 32%, worth about JD690 million , compared to JD524 million
for the same period in 2021.
ACI's exports to Iraq grew in the past 11 months of 2022 to
about JD654 million, compared to JD494 million for the same period last year,
marking an increase of 32%.
During the same period, the chamber's exports to Syria
recorded an increase of 37% to reach about JD117 million, compared to JD85
million in 2021.
In addition, ACI's exports went up to Palestine during the
first 11 months of 2022 by 23% to reach JD154 million, compared to JD124
