BAGHDAD —
Al-HusseinBin Talal University (AHU)actively participated in the international conference on
Human Security and Sustainable Development in Iraq and the Arab World, focusing
on realities, challenges, and confrontation strategies. The conference, held in
Baghdad and patronized by Prime Minister Engineer Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani,
involved notable meetings that aimed to reinforce fraternal relations between
the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of Iraq. Discussions also
centered on promoting academic, scientific, and research cooperation between
Al-Hussein Bin Talal University and Iraqi institutions, including initiatives
for student and faculty exchanges.

During the conference,
Dr. Hassan Al-Dajah presented a research paper emphasizing the critical
importance of human security in the contemporary world. He highlighted various
global challenges and threats, underscoring human security as essential to
safeguard individuals and communities from direct threats like wars, violence,
terrorism, and organized crime. The overarching goal of human security is to
reduce violence and deprivation while providing necessary protection for
individuals.
In recognition of
Al-Hussein Bin Talal University's proactive involvement in the conference,
Professor Dr. Ahmed Fikak Al-Badran, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and
Antiquities, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the House of Wisdom,
presented the university's President, Professor Dr. Atef Al-Khrabsheh, with the
Shield of the House of Wisdom as a token of appreciation.
