The Spokesperson of the Public Security
Directorate (PSD), Amer Al-Sartawi announced that the Anti-Narcotics Department
(AND) has successfully addressed 12 significant cases, leading to the arrest of
23 individuals involved in drug trafficking, distribution, and smuggling, as
per Jo24. Notably, one case involved the interception of an attempt to smuggle
1.5 million drug pills to a neighboring country concealed within a cargo
vehicle.

highlighted that a specialized investigative team from the department acted
upon received information, identifying the cargo vehicle and the six
individuals involved. The vehicle was intercepted, and subsequent raids led to
the arrest of all individuals and the confiscation of the concealed drug pills.

At the Jaber border crossing, attempts to
smuggle two kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 70,000 drug pills were
thwarted, resulting in the arrest of the perpetrators and the seizure of the
illicit substances.
In Ajloun, a security campaign targeted wanted
individuals, drug dealers, and traffickers, resulting in the arrest of six
individuals, including a highly dangerous individual, and the confiscation of
narcotics.
In Amman, four cases were handled, with the
first involving the arrest of a highly dangerous drug dealer operating in the
Jabal Al-Taj area, found with a firearm. The second case led to the arrest of
another highly dangerous individual in the southern part of Amman, along with a
firearm and a quantity of drug pills. The third case involved raiding a
residential apartment used by a drug dealer, resulting in the arrest of the
dealer and another individual, along with the seizure of 2,500 drug pills, four
packs of hashish, and a firearm. In the final case, a drug dealer's residence
was raided, leading to the arrest of the dealer and the confiscation of five
packs of hashish and two automatic firearms.
Additionally, in Mafraq, a drug dealer was
arrested after their residence was raided, leading to the discovery and seizure
of 17,000 drug pills, five packs of hashish, half a kilogram of crystal
methamphetamine, and three firearms. Another case involved arresting a drug
dealer and seizing 10,000 drug pills in their possession.
In Aqaba Governorate, a storage facility used
by an individual for storing drugs was raided, resulting in the arrest of the
individual inside and the seizure of 25,000 drug pills and five firearms.
Furthermore, in Ma'an, a drug dealer was arrested, and eight packs of hashish
were seized in their possession. Notably, all cases were referred to the State
Security Court (SSC) prosecutor.
