AMMAN —
Deputy Bilal Al-Momani criticized
the government's decision to abolish the Civil Service Bureau, describing it as
an indirect message from the government that it is incapable of providing
employment, which is an unacceptable deficiency under any pretext.

Momani added, in an interview with
Jordan24, that the timing of the government's decision is entirely
inappropriate, given the huge numbers of unemployed individuals, affirming that
the presence of the
Civil Service Bureau, as it is directly responsible for
public sector employment, is better than its absence, despite the criticisms
and observations directed at it.
Unfavorable to Jordanian citizens
He said that the presence of the
Civil Service Bureau achieves fairness, while the abolition of the bureau and leaving
matters without centralized control would open the door to changes in hiring
processes that do not benefit Jordanian citizens.
He concluded his statement by saying,
"Everyone competes with Jordanians in the job market, even the most
unlikely professions have become
dominated by
non-Jordanian and foreign labor, so it is necessary to reconsider
the decision." He further the stated that various government’s approaches
towards regulating labor in the private sector have failed.
