AMMAN —
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Al-Shraideh said on
Monday that abolishing any independent body or returning its tasks to the
relevant ministry would create a legislative and regulatory vacuum, which would
affect the economic sectors, according to Khaberni.

Shraideh stressed that the Public Sector
Modernization Committee needs to complete technical studies, to consider the
jobs and tasks assigned to it.
Shraideh said that
previous studies related to independent bodies focused on financial costs and
reducing them as its main goal, but most of the existing bodies in Jordan are
linked to applicable laws and legislation, and they cannot be abolished without
reformulating that legislation.
Shraideh indicated that there are jobs and tasks related
to technical and administrative capabilities in these independent bodies,
adding that “we do not want to make an administrative or legal decision that
affects the private sector.”
