AMMAN — COVID-19 killed 97 people in Jordan in
the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 6,651. A total of 7,940 cases
were recorded, pushing the caseload to around 597,250 according to the Ministry
of Health.

Monday’s tally, the ministry said that 3,549 cases were recorded in Amman,
1,196 in Zarqa, 791 in Irbid, 468 in Balqa, 335 in Karak, 301 in Mafraq, 294 in
Aqaba, 271 in Ajloun, 226 in Jerash, 193 in Tafilah, 187 in Madaba and 129 in
Maan.
The ministry added in a statement that some 382 people had
recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 432 others were admitted, as
the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 3,383.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at
around 96,188, the statement noted, according to the Jordan News Agency Petra.
More than 494,417 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been
self-isolating, have fully recovered so far. Around 16 percent of the 48,980
COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
