Amman– The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) have agreed to strengthen their mutual cooperation, particularly in networking between business owners and companies from both sides to enhance their countries' economic interests.

According to an ACC statement on Thursday, the agreement was reached during a meeting between ACC Chairman Khalil Haj Tawfiq and SCCI Chairman Abdullah Sultan Al Owais.
They emphasized activating their joint cooperation agreement, organizing meetings, and facilitating economic delegation visits to elevate commercial relations.
Haj Tawfiq highlighted the strong Jordanian-Emirati relations, reinforced by the leaderships of the two brotherly nations, and ongoing efforts to develop economic cooperation and maximize opportunities.
He noted the importance of exchanging expertise in trade and investment and building strong strategic partnerships that benefit businesses in both countries.
He stated that the UAE is a vital economic partner for Jordan, with investments in the Kingdom nearing $16 billion.
The trade volume between the two countries reached 997 million dinars in the first ten months of the past year.
Haj Tawfiq pointed out Jordan's clear economic vision and new investment direction, offering incentives and opportunities across various sectors, supported by its strategic location near key Arab markets such as Palestine, Iraq, and Syria, and free trade agreements with the U.S. and Europe.
He invited the SCCI board members and Emirati businessmen to visit Jordan to explore available investment and trade opportunities and strengthen the countries' investment and trade relations.
For his part, Al Owais affirmed SCCI's readiness to collaborate and coordinate with ACC across all areas to advance bilateral trade and investment relations. He emphasized exchanging information on economic opportunities to benefit business owners and investors.
He also highlighted SCCI's key initiatives and services for supporting economic sectors and empowering entrepreneurs in Sharjah, including its international arbitration center "Tahkeem," which provides a stable legal and commercial environment for businesses and efficient dispute resolution.
Al Owais noted the chamber's support for agricultural projects, mentioning the upcoming opening of a date factory to enhance the added value of local products, drive the local economy, and expand growth in the agriculture sector.
Additionally, he highlighted the Middle East Watch and Jewelry Show organized by the Sharjah Expo Center, bringing together hundreds of exhibitors from leading local and international brands to showcase the latest innovations in the watch and jewelry industry.
He invited ACC board members and general assembly members to attend.
Al Owais expressed SCCI's full readiness to support ACC in organizing similar exhibitions and shared their extensive expertise in hosting major events that enhance trade exchanges and encourage investments between various stakeholders.
